I didn't get any comments on my last post and I think I know why. I've been too negative about this Topps Holiday Advent calendar. It's really not that bad!
Maybe door #16 will have something special?!?
Okay, so it's a standard 5-card pack. But I'm going to be positive!!! This is fun!! So I'm going to enjoy this pack by scanning each card individually and including a positive comment about each.
Here we gooooooooo!!!!!!
Another Christian Walker! Two cards of the same player in one pack, that never happens!!
Mooo-kie! Four-time World Series champ and the active career leader in WAR with 75.2!!
What's that? I'm being told that Mike Trout still plays baseball once in a while, so Betts has the second-highest WAR among active players. But he's still 10 points higher than Judge and he's younger.
Overall, this was a pretty good pack of Holiday cards! Now, can we please get some variety in this box?
Thanks for reading!

It's not your fault some of the cards are just "meh." But I think you'll get at least one other buyback and maybe some other different stuff? Definitely a couple very good players here, that's nice to see.
ReplyDelete221 whiffs in one season is nuts. I know we're not supposed to care about batter SOs anymore, but for someone who grew up in the '70s it's tough.
ReplyDeleteA. James Woods struck out more than Tony Gwynn did during the 90's (188 k's from 1990-1999).
ReplyDeleteB. I've commented on a few different 2025 Topps Holiday posts, so I might have already said this on your blog. But I'm starting to like this year's design. When I opened up my advent calendar over the weekend and got a chance to hold the cards in my hand I was pleasantly surprised.
Looking at Wood, I would never have grouped him with guys like Mark Reynolds and Adam Dunn...
